The Maasai Mara Safari

What is the Maasai Mara safari like on this trip?

Full and half-day game drives in open-window vehicles with our Kenyan guides, looking for lions, elephants, giraffe, cheetah, buffalo, and — in season — the wildebeest migration. Park fees and permits are already in the expedition price.

What you may see

Lions, elephants, giraffe, zebra, buffalo, hippo, cheetah, and hundreds of bird species. Sightings are never guaranteed; the Mara is wild, not a zoo.

Best time to visit the Maasai Mara

The great migration typically crosses between July and October. January to March brings dry, clear days and newborn animals. November's short rains turn the landscape green with far fewer vehicles in the park.

How our safari is different

You arrive in the Mara having already spent days with the Maasai families who live alongside it. The guides are the same Kenyan team you have worked with all week.
