Traveling to Kenya On Your Own

Can I travel to Kenya alone with a group?

Yes. Most of our travelers sign up solo. You are met at the airport, matched with a same-gender roommate if you want one, and part of a 7–12 person team from the first meal. You are never moving around Kenya on your own.

Roommate matching

Prices are based on double occupancy, and we match solo travelers with a roommate of the same gender at no extra charge. A private room is available for an additional fee.

Safety on the ground

You travel with our Kenyan team, in our vehicles, on routes we have used for over a decade. Airport pickup, lodging, meals, and every transfer are arranged in advance.

How the group becomes a group

Preparation calls start weeks before departure, so you know names and faces before you land. By the second day of work in the field, most groups are already close.

Frequently asked questions

Will I have to pay a single supplement?

Only if you want a private room. Roommate matching is free.

Is Kenya safe for solo travelers?

On our expeditions you are always with the group and our Kenyan team. We travel established routes and stay in vetted lodging.
